Will players be ranked on a scale against each other? No. Our COPPA Instructors will not rank players on a 1-10 scale. Simply rating someone by numbers is unfair to players and unrealistic unless rating for each division seperately. For example someone who doesn’t rank high for a Division I school, may rank very highly for a NAIA school.
The COPPA Instructors will NOT compare each person at the same level. Every player has the ability to play at a program and focusing on the right divisions is key to having the best opportunities at a college scholarship.
Instead of ranking players by numbers, our COPPA Instructors will give honest assessments, opinions and advice on the collegiate level they feel the player can perform.
This allows the player who is assessed to walk away with real comments and advice from her assessment. This will help players know which areas they need improvement on the areas in which she is excelling.
Can I get assessment from more than 1 COPPA Instructor Yes, however you will have to purchase each separately.
Is there a limit to how many player assessments I can purchase over time? No. You can purchase assessments at any time and as often as you would like with any of the COPPA Instructors. We do, however, suggest that you send in a new video each time so they can assess the most current video showcasing your skills.
How long does it take to get the assessment back? Written feedback will be emailed within 2 weeks of providing your skills video or them seeing you play at one of our showcases.
Once I receive my assessment back what should I do? You will receive a link to a On-Line Form. If you have any questions, need clarification or would just like to say Thank You, you will be able to do so on this form on time. Once you submit this form, the COPPA Instructor will respond within a timely matter.
From there begin working to improve on areas discussed in your assessment. Work on adjusting your skills video if suggested Add any comments available that are positive and can help player in a positive way to your player profile. Resend or send for the first time your profile through TCCRS to update coaches with new comments/skills video.
Are we guaranteed a scholarship if we receive an assessment from one of the COPPA Instructors? No. There is no guarantee that any player will receive a scholarship because they receive a player assessment from one of our COPPA Instructors. Our company, just like any other recruiting company, cannot guarantee that any student-athlete will receive or be offered an athletic or academic scholarship. We cannot guarantee that you will be offered to be part of a collegiate softball program either. We can, however, provide you a great amount of exposure to college coaches by getting your information directly in their email.
Can I talk to the COPPA Instructors over the phone? No, however, you can ask the COPPA Instructor 3 questions when you submit your video to be assessed. Questions must be softball related, for example: -Asking the Instructor about their softball career -Asking the Instructor to give you feedback on specific area(s) of your video -Asking any other softball related questions.
Then after you receive your assessment you will have the opportunity to fill out a form to ask any further questions/get clarification on the assessment one time.
Do I have to enroll with TCCRS to participate in this program? No. Any player that is in at least 7th grade can purchase a Player Assessment. Enrolling with Take Charge College Recruiting Service is optional.
